Mobile cameras could stop bad drivers

Mobile videos and footage of bad drivers could be used to charge hoons in a bid to crackdown on road accidents and speeding.

New technology introduced this year has helped a couple recover photos from a holiday taken on their lost digital camera.

Thousands of cameras are lost on airlines, hotels and at tourist destinations around the world each year.

However a new technology, Eye-Fi, will now allow images to be recovered from lost cameras.

The Eye-FI memory card can be programmed to transmit the photos and video from a camera back to a return email address or photo-sharing website, including Flickr or Facebook.

The small memory card - about the same size as a current SD memory card - has an in-built wireless connection.

The connection will automatically send photos to a user when passing within range of a similarly configured wireless network.

The technology allows for all photos and video to be transmitted back to the user, and despite the camera's loss, retain holiday memories.

The technology sells for about $100 - with a number of different configurations and sizes.
