Bathurst's big question answered

Could anyone really stop Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup from claiming their third victory?

Legendary women's golfer Annika Sorenstam has announced her retirement from the sport.

The ten-time major winner said today that she is now ready to start a family with her fiance and will give up professional golf.

The Swedish national said that she would begin to focus on other interests, including business.

"I love the game so much, this is obviously a hard decision to make, but it feels like the right one," she said in a statement.

"It was always important to me to go out on my own terms."

37-year-old Sorenstam said that she wanted to begin a family with her fiance.

"I made this decision because I have a number of other priorities in my life, including starting a family, that I want to be as dedicated to as I have been to playing golf."

The legendary golfer captured her 90th professional win at the weekend.
